CBTS Acquires Messaging Services Provider Cintech

CINCINNATI – May 14, 2009 – CBTS, the technology solutions division of Cincinnati Bell Inc. (NYSE: CBB) and a leading provider of data center and managed services, today announced the acquisition of Cintech LLC. Based in Cincinnati, Cintech provides IP-based voice and data communications services including notification, response, and interaction scheduling. 

“We are excited to join CBTS and continue to supply ‘On Demand’ software services to a broad base of managed services customers. CBTS has been a valued technology partner of Cintech for years and has a keen understanding of our IP solutions and Web-based services,” noted Dennis Carroll, president of Cintech LLC.
CBTS will now include Cintech’s flagship service, cNotify, within the broad CBTS product portfolio designed to provide customized business solutions. The cNotify service delivers any combination of outbound notifications using voice, SMS text, e-mail, paging, and Web.

Because the services are IP based, customers can use a simple Web interface to load and manage contacts lists, record messages, and automate calls. In addition, speech-recognition capabilities can be added when capturing a customer’s response over the phone is vital. This feature is particularly useful for applications such as surveys, order tracking, bill payment, appointment scheduling, and purchase transactions. A mobile version of cNotify is also available, making it possible for entire notification campaigns to be managed from a Web-enabled smartphone.

CBTS plans to host, manage, and support all of Cintech services. Cintech’s current customer base includes some of the largest corporations in the United States and encompasses a variety of industries.
Terms of the transaction, which closed earlier this year, were not disclosed.
